Luke: 6 Months

Happy 1/2 Birthday to the cutest little guy around!
Yet another month has passed and we have now celebrated 6 months with
Luke Daniel Fisher
As you can see, Luke thinks that being 6 months is super fun!
At 6 months, Luke is now
16 lbs 8 oz and 26.5 inches
He is wearing mostly 6-12 month Gymboree or 12 month Carters ~ by far our fastest at outgrowing clothing!!!  Thankfully, we had everything of Eli's from 6 months on so we're good there.
At 6 months, Luke's little personality is shining through.
We are praising God that the colic (i.e. screaming all day, every day) is a distant memory.
Luke is definitely a guy who knows what he wants and let's us know it, but he is now very happy.
We get loads of smiles and giggles from Luke on a daily basis ~ woo hoo!
At 6 months, Luke is a great roller and constantly rolling to his tummy.
Though not as good at it, Luke can also roll from tummy to back.
He is starting to push up more when on his tummy
but still does his signature "Baby Buzz" move as we call it ;-)
At 6 months, Luke still has a darling gummy grin ~ meaning no teeth,
though he has had two very painful looking cold sores over his bottom two teeth for three weeks.
Doesn't seem to bother him too much but we're hoping they pop through soon.
At 6 months, Luke is still spitting up quite a bit but does have some good days where he can make it through the day with only one or two clothing changes ~ on other days, way more changes :-)
The spitting doesn't bother him in the least but it sure is messy!
At 6 months, Luke is still not terribly interested in his thumb, though he has sucked it a few times.
He's also not very interested in anything other than milk.
We've tried oatmeal, bananas, apples, sweet potatoes, peaches, and pears (store bought & homemade)
He finally seemed interested in the mashed bananas but it turns out he's allergic to bananas ~ grrr!
Now we're just giving him large pieces of fruit to gum so he can get used to different tastes.
It's like having Alli all over again ~ she didn't care too much for food either! ;-)

At 6 months, one of Luke's favorite things to do is play with his siblings.
Poor Eli was sick but Alli was more than willing to pose with her baby brother and both had a blast!

Alli loves that she can hold Luke now and he doesn't mind one bit.
Both Alli and Eli are great with Luke and love to snuggle and play with him, which he loves!
At 6 months, Luke isn't much of a sitter and still flings back.
Maybe that's a skill he'll start gaining in the next month . . .
Love that it looks like Luke is pointing at something!!!
At 6 months, Luke is still sleeping pretty well.  Taking 2-3 great naps during the day and going down around 6 p.m. for bed, waking usually only once to eat and up for the day around 7 a.m.
This makes for a well-rested and happy little guy!
At 6 months, we are completely in love with our little Luke!
He is such a joy and the perfect completion to our family.
We love you Lukey-Doo!!!

Busted

Found Luke busting out of his 6 month PJs this morning . . . so cute!
He seemed so pleased with himself ;-)

His big siblings found it pretty funny too!
Noticed in the above picture that Luke and Eli have the same cheeks!!!

Alli thought her baby bro was way too cute busting out of his PJs.

Have we mentioned Luke is our biggest baby and growing out of clothing sooooo fast?!?!?! :-)

Sleepyhead

Is there anything more precious than a sleeping baby?

How about one that is so sleepy he falls asleep in the tub?

And then continues to sleep through getting in PJs?

Waking up only long enough to latch onto Mommy for a bedtime snack,
and then sleeping peacefully most of the night.  We must have wore him out some how! :-)

Brotherly love

Eli has gotten very into giving Luke toys lately and Luke loves the attention from his big bro . . .
Patiently swinging but a bit bored

Looking at his big bro with such admiration!

Smooches from Eli, way more like it ;-)

I love watching our boys together ~ built in best buddies!

Pretty Piggies

Alli and I have been talking about having a girls' afternoon to get pedicures for a couple months but something always seems to come up (she likes to ditch me for playdates ~ go figure!).
Today, we had to drop off a package and there was a nail salon right next door so we decided to see if we could get in fairly quickly since we had a party to be at soon.  Helps to have a cute little girl with you because we got right in and everyone thought Alli was precious!!!
She had the BEST time and couldn't stop giggling :-)
The pics aren't great since I only had my phone but we had to document our fun.
I let Alli pic the color she wanted (way darker than I would have gone!) and she even got a flower ~ Whoa!  Big stuff for our 5 year old!!!
A very fun date with a precious little gal!

Sandbox Fun

We had glorious weather today
and the "bigs" took full advantage by playing together in the sandbox!

They are so sweet playing together outside
and Eli truly enjoyed watching Alli build a sand castle ~ the girl has talent!!!

It's so fun to know that next year, Luke will be digging with them too ;-)

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with family!
On Good Friday, we had Great Pop and Uncle Z over for dinner.
Eli was adorable insisting that we say our prayers :-)
Saturday, we visited with the Easter Bunny and enjoyed an egg hunt at our church.

Alli LOVED the Easter Bunny and gave him lots of hugs and smooches.

Eli LOVED that the Easter Bunny gave him candy so took every opportunity to visit with him ;-)

Eli didn't quite grasp the whole hunting for eggs ~ he just wanted to open the ones he found and eat the candy right away.  This meant he "found" a total of 3 eggs!  Fortunately, others gave him some.

Alli on the other hand was a pro and even found one of the six coveted "golden eggs" meaning she got a special basket of goodies ~ needless to say, she was thrilled!

Thankfully, the weather was beautiful allowing for some great play time with buddies after the hunt.

Today, Alli and Eli couldn't wait to see if the Easter Bunny brought them any goodies . . .
The buckets of goodies were a hit!
Alli loved her princess puzzles and princess bike horn and Eli was so excited to get the Toy Story trilogy and Cars bike horn.  Luke too enjoyed his Sophie giraffe (and first Easter)!

Then it was time to head outside for our egg hunt.
Eli finally got the idea and the two bigs had a blast!

We attempted some family photos but it's tough to get everyone to pay attention ;-)

After the egg hunt, we were off to church, where we enjoyed breakfast and a fabulous sermon.
This afternoon, we played outside and worked in the yard before heading over to Ducky Gramma and Papa's house for a yummy ham dinner.  Tony, Jenee and Kyle were missed but we loved seeing the rest of the family.  I didn't bring my camera so I will have to share pictures once my mom sends them.  We got some very cute shots of the "baby cousins" (aka Bella and Luke).

Definitely a fabulous weekend to remember!

Total sweetness

Seriously, this boy is beyond adorable
AND
has the BEST giggle ever!!!

Domestic success!

Figuring I better start earning my keep around Case de Fisher,
I decided it was high time I learn my way around the kitchen ;-)
As you may know, I am NOT the cook of the family, although I do make some great side dishes!
This week, I decided to try some new recipes and they have been a huge hit among the entire fam.
Last night, I made Chicken Enchilada Soup and although it was very spicy, both kiddos chowed down and told me how good it was, while drinking about four glasses of water each!

Tonight, I made Orange, Teriyaki Chicken

And again, it was a huge hit!
Guess I'm not so bad in the kitchen after all ;-)

Luke: 5 months

Luke Daniel Fisher
5 months old already!!!

It doesn't seem possible that this little cutie pie has been with us for 5 months.
The time is flying by so quickly and Luke is getting so big.
I know I keep saying it, but he really is our biggest baby by far ~ we refer to him as the "bruiser" :-)

At 5 months, Luke is such a little ham and a pretty happy little guy.
He always has smiles and loves showing off those adorable dimples.
Thankfully, the colic seems to have passed,
though he is definitely a boy who knows what he likes and what he does NOT like.
For instance, he likes nursing; he does NOT like bottles (i.e. full out refuses them!)
He also refuses to take any pacifiers or suck a thumb, though he does suck his wrist at times!

At 5 months, Luke is quite the little chatter box and loves when we talk and sing to him.
Pat-a-cake and the Itsy Bitsy Spider are current faves.
Of course, he also loves all of the silly made up songs by Mommy and Alli.

At 5 months, he still doesn't have any teeth but he sure seems to be teething.
Luke drools constantly and is always running his tongue along his gums.
He also gets fussy for no apparent reason and bites everything he can.
Alli and Eli both had teeth by 5 months so we are assuming they will pop up soon.

At 5 months, Luke is rolling from back to tummy both over the right and left.
He actually doesn't seem to mind tummy time anymore and flips to his tummy a ton.
The only time it seems to bother him is when he gets stuck in his crib with an arm between the bars.
We've ordered a breathable bumper and are hoping that will help.
It is quite amusing while he's on his tummy because he puts his arms to the sides and looks like he's trying to fly.  We call him "Baby Buzz" because Eli is always flying around as Buzz Lightyear ;-)

At 5 months, Luke is still very enthralled with his siblings, and they with him.
Although Eli didn't want to participate in the photoshoot, both the bigs adore Luke.
The three of them love to snuggle and play ~ so sweet.

At 5 months, Luke is a huge fan of the jumperoo and really gets going.
Eli loves to stand in front of Luke and "help" him jump even higher ~ leading to lots of giggles!

At 5 months, Luke has tried mashed up bananas, which he seemed to enjoy,
though we have no idea if any actually made it to his tummy ;-)
We've only tried it once as he wound up with a rash (doubt it's related but wanted to be sure),
but he sure had fun with the experiment!!!

At 5 months, Luke is wearing some 3-6 month clothing but outgrowing them in moving into the 6-12 month size.  He is also starting to outgrow the size 2 diapers and will be moving up to size 3 in the next week or so.  Luke is doing better sleeping at night and typically sleeps from 7 pm to 5 am (waking only to nurse) and then up for the day around 7:30 am.  Of course, some nights, he wakes more frequently making for some very tired parents ;-)  We do not know his exact stats but our "unofficial" weight (using our home scale) has him at 16.6 lbs.  Additionally, he's wearing clothes that Eli wasn't in until he was almost a year!

At 5 months, we are all completely in love with our little Lukey and thank God each day for opening our hearts to the idea of having a third child.  We cannot imagine our family without him!!!
