Our Baby Boy is 6 Weeks and Smiling :)

Have you ever seen anything so cute???? Our little guy is such a laid back little cutie who has actually been giving us smiles for a couple weeks but I finally caught one on camera today!

Here's a shot of our handsome little guy wide awake in his baseball outfit.

How cute is this little baseball bottom???

He was having so much fun!
Okay, so he became a little sick of our photo shoot :)

Can't forget to add a picture of our little princess, who loves to be just like Mommy and insisted on a sling to carry her babies :)

Prayer request

Today I learned that a very dear friend of mine is dealing with a tragedy and is in need of many prayers. Her daughter, about to begin her sophomore year of college, was in a tragic car accident. Although it appears that she will be okay physically, she is suffering greatly as she was driving and two others in the car (one of whom was her best friend) died in the accident. Please pray that the Lord grants her peace and helps her to heal both physically and emotionally. Please also pray that the Lord provides strength for my friend as she tries to help her daughter through this horrible ordeal. Finally, please pray for the families of the two individuals who lost their lives.

Life is so short and unpredictable . . .

Some cute random photos of the kiddos

So they really were snuggling very nicely but by the time I thought to get the camera to snap a photo, Eli decided to show off his grumpy face :) Alli was such a good sport and loved snuggling her baby brother!

I know I promised that I would chill with the "potty posts" but how cute is this little gal???

I decided we needed to try something new with Alli's hair today . . . thanks to her insane mullet, we have to put it back but I was getting bored with the pig tails so we tried double french braids today and I thought she looked adorable (and very grown up)!!!

I've been dragging my feet on giving Eli a bottle for many reasons but seeing how we are going to a wedding in two weeks and planned to be away from him for about 5-6 hours, we really needed to give it a try. Here he is, bright and early this morning, finally taking a bottle. He's such a little piggy that he needed to nurse for about 5 minutes afterwards (I think he just wanted some Mommy snuggles!)

Yippeeeeeee!!!

Alli had such a great day today as far as potty training goes. Really, I'm not even sure we should use the phrase "potty training" when it comes to her because we didn't do any "training" she's pretty much done it all herself. It just clicked for her and that was it. Since she started going in the potty, she has not had many accidents but we were still putting her in pullups for naps and bedtime. Well, for the past week or so, she's been waking up completely dry from naps and in the morning so I decided to brave it today and keep her in her panties for nap time ~ she took an almost 3 hour nap and woke up dry!!!! Hooray! She was so proud of herself and I was thrilled :) Another huge step forward was her pooping on the potty this evening (yes, my life is now revolving around bodily functions!) For some reason, she has been afraid to do this but we told her that once she starts doing it, she can pick out a new stroller for her babies. Apparently, she really wants this because she has stopped holding it in and was willing to go. Hopefully, it will continue. Assuming it does, and we can do away with the pullups at night, she will be completely through with any type of diaper. This is so exciting! We cannot believe how quickly she has become a little girl ~ no more baby or even toddler.

In other news, Eli is doing great and still eating and sleeping like a little champ! The little sweetie even gave us a 5.5 hour stretch last night ~ talk about a nice treat!!!

We have the greatest kiddos! I took the cutest picture of the two of them in their PJs this evening that I will post later (once I upload it). Alli is holding Eli and they looked so sweet.

That was our excitement today, I promise that future posts will not completely revolve around potty stories ;-)

Cooling down :)

Woo hoo!!! We finally have our AC installed and working. It is awesome and we could not be more thrilled. It was a bit of a fiasco having this done but it is all set now and we're feeling nice and cool ;-) Yay!

Another Great Week

Sorry for the lack of updates last week! We've just been having so much fun that I didn't have much time to get to the computer :) As you can see from the picture above, we're having some beautiful weather again and we took full advantage by heading out to the beach yesterday. We had a great time and G even got to wake board with his brother. The kiddos and I decided to stay behind and enjoy the beach and toys. The fun didn't stop there as we celebrated my brother Tony's birthday last night. What a great time we had! Tony finally held Eli, who happened to be celebrating his 1 month birthday!!!

Here's a shot of our big guy who had his 1 month check up today and is a whopping

9 lbs 5 oz

This is such a relief for us to have a child that loves to eat and gains weight so quickly :)

Aside from playing at the beach and spending time with the family, we did a bit of work in our yard and Alli was a huge helper with planting . . .

Alli is doing so well being a big sister and big girl. She has virtually no accidents and wears her big girl panties all the time except in bed. Of course, she doesn't love to poop in the potty so we're working on that but figure it will come in time :) Right now, her focus is on our upcoming trip to Disneyland, she cannot stop talking about Mickey Mouse.

Our Wonderful Life

Doesn't get much cuter than this! We're on a full week of potty training and so far, only 3 accidents ~ yeah Alli!!! We feel so fortunate to have such wonderful children. This is not to say that we don't have challenges, we definitely do, but these moments make all the challenging ones just melt away :)

Potty training in full force

So Alli was so excited by the big deal we made out of her going potty last night that she spent the entire day in her big girl panties (even when we went to visit friends and went grocery shopping!) and using the potty. We had only one accident all day and that was my fault, not hers because I forgot to have her sit on the potty before we went to get ready for her nap. She did so great and even went poop in the potty!!! Hooray!

Pee Pee in the Potty!!!

The title of the post says it all . . . our big girl went pee pee in the potty tonight!!!!!!!!!! She is totally ready for potty training but has been incredibly stubborn. Well, tonight she was in her big girl panties for our walk / bike ride around the neighborhood and she stayed completely dry. Right before her bath, we put her on the potty and she instantly went! We made a very big deal, which she thought was great and she got three M-n-Ms ~ she could not stop smiling and informed us that she was going to do it again in the morning ~ hooray!!! She was so excited that she had to call her grandparents to tell them the good news ;-) We're really hoping that this is just the beginning!

We had a great weekend enjoying the warm (okay, HOT!!!) sunny weather. Alli ran through the sprinkler and Eli did his best to stay cool by hanging out in diapers ;-)

After church today, we took the kids over to Garrett's grandparents' house. Here is my favorite shot of Eli with Great Pop (as Alli calls him). It was really cute, Pop wanted Alli to come over to him for snuggles and she decides to say "how about baby brother sit there" (meaning Pop's lap). Guess she has decided Eli is pretty good to have around! She is still pretty impressed with her baby brother but told me this weekend that she has "a tough time sharing Mommy." I was so proud of her for expressing her feelings with words!
In other news, I am feeling sooooooooo much better! The second set of antibiotics did the trick ~ woo hoo!

Feeling SOOOOOOOOO Rested :)

Eli decided to give us a FIVE hour stretch last night from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. and I'm feeling so rested this morning ~ amazing how such a small amount can feel so good ;-) We think it's because we finally decided to put him in his crib rather than the pack-n-play next to our bed (he is NOT a fan of the pnp!) Woo hoo! Now we realize that if he is anything like his big sister, this may not happen often but we'll sure enjoy when it does!
