we're alive!

The lack of posts have been a result of our darling little Eli breaking our computer ~ what is it with our children and expensive electronics???  Fortunately, unlike the camera, our computer was actually covered under our homeowner's inurance so not nearly as expensive of an oops ;-)  The new one is due to arrive today ~ YEAH!  We've been taking lots of pictures and have lots to share so once we're up and running again, watch out . . . there will be tons to share.  Until then, let me assure you that we are all doing quite well and enjoyed the long weekend.

two down, two to go . . .

Garrett passed his second CPA exam!!!
So only two more to go and he's done.
I may be slightly biased, but I think my hubby rocks :)

he may not be as happy about this in 10 years . . . ;-)

but don't even try to tell me this isn't one of the cutest (and funniest!) things you've seen . . .
He found his sister's dress up stuff while she was napping
and decided to put on the flower head band and wave the wand
***Mommy did NOT do this to him***
Of course, I was happy to snap the pictures!!! :)
How cute is he???
So proud!

never a dull moment in casa de fisher

I've been working from home all week as G had to travel to MN for work.  Let me just say that being a single parent is HARD ~ wow!  Makes it even harder when you get sick :(  Yesterday afternoon, I just started feeling yucky ~ nothing specific but just not myself.  Then my stomach started to hurt and by 4 p.m. I was vomiting (I know, gross) and it didn't let up.  I finally called my mom at 6 p.m. to come help me with the kiddos since all I could do was lay on the ground.  She is a saint and gave both kids their baths and put them to bed.  I had a fever, chills and could not keep anything down, including water.  I was hoping that I would feel better after a good night's sleep and maybe I would have if I had a good night's sleep but that didn't happen.  I was sick all night.  I called my dad a little before 7 a.m. to ask him to take me to urgent care, hoping they would give me something to stop the vomiting.  I figured I may be a little dehydrated and may need some fluids but didn't really think it was that big of a deal.  So we get to urgent care and they started taking my vitals and doing the exam.  The doc said I was severely dehydrated and needed to get to the ER.  Okay, fine.  I still just wanted something to stop the vomiting.  Then he tells me that I have to go by ambulance because my vitals are so screwy ~ agh!  I told dad he could go home and I would call him later ~ no sense him sitting in the ER with me.  So . . . 1 ambulance ride complete with oxygen, 4 bags of IV fluids, 2 rounds of Zofran, and 1 dose of Dilaudid later, I finally felt well enough to go home.  I have to see my doc tomorrow to make sure all is well but I'm pretty sure it was just a stomach bug.

Then to top it off, when Alli woke up from her afternoon nap, she had a fever of 103.5 ~ YIKES!  Fortunately, alternating Tylenol and Motrin has helped and she's now down to 99.  I'm praying she doesn't start vomiting too.

G gets home tomorrow evening and we cannot wait.  What a week! ;-)

huh???

I just spoke with someone from the Seattle Times newspaper about a possible Sunday subscription.  It was an interesting conversation to say the least.  I asked what specials they had as there was no way I would be willing to pay the $2.95 per week when all I would really do is clip coupons or look at store adds.  The woman tells me there is a 50% off special where I could pay just $19.  Okay, $19 for what?  She did not appreciate that question but eventually tells me it is just for 3 months and then the full price would apply.  I say no thank you and ask if that is the best she can do.  She puts me on hold and says, well there is another promotion for 20% off and she can offer it to me for $30.  What????  I did a bit of a double take and had to ask for clarification, I mean first she offers $19, I ask if that's the best she can do and she comes back with $30??????  She says yes, those are the two promotions I can choose from.  Okay.  I actually had to ask if anyone would actually choose to pay more.  I was so confused.  Conversation ends with me saying no thank you.  I have to say, I doubt I will be going with that paper any time soon.  Wierd.

fun with family & friends (part 2 of our weekend)

After G & Eli got back to the beach Saturday morning, we had a yummy breakfast.
Eli showed off how great he's getting around these days by walking holding Mommy & Alli's hands :)
Such a big boy!
Saturday was a perfect day . . .
So HOT and SUNNY ~ the PERFECT beach day!
We were so lucky that we were able to spend it with family and friends.
Barbie Gramma, Pop Pop, Uncle Z, and Great Pop were there
So were our wonderful friends and neighbors the Killians
We had so much fun and Alli was so excited to play with Roan at the beach,
they were so cute together and had a blast playing in the water, on the sand and eating tons of candy ;-)
I so wish the tree wasn't blocking this shot because they were so cute playing with the monster tube together.
They kept getting in and out ~ well, Alli couldn't quite get out by herself and Roan, being the gentleman that he is, would lift her out :)
After the last boat ride of the day, the two kids found huge sticks and were walking them up the stairs.
Alli must have been getting tired because she turned and said
"Roan, would you carry my stick for me?"
"Sure Alli" as he proceeds to carry it to the top then give it back to her.
Seriously, too cute!
Rest assured, the two little ones had fun too but did more playing on the sand than in the water :)
After dinner and the final boat ride, our friends left ~ Alli was not too pleased with this.
She got over it though when we decided to take a family swim out to the dock . . .
She did so great and actually swam back to the beach pulling Mommy on the tube ~ I could get used to that!
Back on land, she jumped in the tube and said "I wanna go in the water!"
No dice but we did make s'mores so she was happy.
When we got home, both kiddos crashed, as did I!

We would have loved to go back to the beach today as it was another scorcher but G had to fly out to MN this afternoon for another week away :(  We miss him already but are so excited that he is going to get to see our dear friends the McDonalds and meet Princess Lauren (as Alli still calls her!) ~ okay so I'm super jealous about that one but still excited ;-)

Make sure you check out the post below for updates on our fabulous, Friday, family fun day at the beach!

our family is back together!!!!

Last week, G and I were both travelling for work so the kiddos spent a very funfilled week with Papa and Ducky Gramma.  They had a blast but seemed happy to have us home :)

I got home at 2:30 a.m. on Friday.  Eli was up for the day at 5:30 so I was a bit tired but so happy to be home with my babies.  G got home around 12:30 and after a quick lunch, we were off to the beach.  It was such a hot and sunny day ~ perfect for the beach!

We got in our swimsuits, set up the pool, water table and squirt pad so we were ready to play . . . the kids had a BLAST plaing TOGETHER!  They have finally reach the point where they love playing together ~ thank goodness :)

The two of them hopped on the fish swing together, with NO prompting from us.
Notice Alli's arm around Eli and him lounging on her knee ~ so precious!
After snuggling for a bit, Alli decided to "push" him on the swing ~ oh my, it was all I could do to stand back.
I had no reason to worry though, she was too gentle for Eli's liking
When she stopped pushing, he figured out how to get it going ~ FAST ~ all on his own
Rolled off, got right back up and did it again.
Guess this is what it's like to have a boy :)

They also had so much fun playing in the pool together . . .
Alli's new favorite thing to do is jump into the pool to see how big of splash she can make
Eli loves to watch her do this but Alli thought he should try to . . .

He was a little too heavy for her so she settled for a snuggle instead

Eli decided to try his surfer pose with the squirt pool ~ not bad!
Then it was time to play on the dock ~ easy since it was low tide and we could walk to it ;-)
Uncle Z came out for dinner and s'mores and the kids were so excited to see him.
Alli loves playing with Uncle Z and he always brings her a giant cookie ;-)
G and Z had a blast racing out to the dock after dinner but that will have to get its own post
as they were so cute playing together!
Here they were on the dock waving to Alli
Here are a couple shots I took of Alli while the two boys were playing on the dock
She picked me a flower and got me seaweed for my skin ~ hmmmm, not sure what she's trying to tell me!
It was a bit of a rough night and Eli could NOT get comfortable in the pack-n-play or anywhere else.
G decided at 2 a.m. to take him home, where he slept great the little stinker ;-)
So it was just us girls first thing in the morning but we kind of enjoyed that!
Be sure to check out our post of the rest of our weekend fun at the beach . . .

alli's first time at Vacation Bible School

Although she was technically too young to attend VBS at our church this year,
they made an exception since they wanted Miss Kaitlyn to help :)
Alli had a fabulous time doing crafts, singing and dancing
She LOVED the songs and we've been listening to them non-stop
I even woke up this morning to hear her belting out "Baobab Blast"
Too cute!

Here's the little angel at her performance on Friday . . .
I just love that smile ~ she is such an AMAZING little girl!!!
She even did the singing and dancing for most of the songs :)

What a great first time experience at VBS!
She is already asking when she can go back ;-)

eli's first cold

Eli got his first illness ever this week.
Luckily, it is just a cold but the poor little guy is so uncomfortable.
It's made for a couple rough days and nights.
Here he was on Friday afternoon when he couldn't nap :(
I decided to let him help me with the laundry.
This was his idea of helping . . .
Sitting on the clean clothes ;-)
He felt so rotten and could not get comfortable so he decided to see if this might work . . .
He really is such a sweetheart!
I hate seeing him sick but the one good part is he wants lots of Mommy snuggles,
which I am only too happy to give him :)
Hopefully, he will feel 100% again very soon.

guess who took some steps on his own . . .

Okay so it is not really hard to guess ;-)

Tonight, Eli took a couple steps all by himself!
The funniest part was that he didn't even realize he did it.
He was cruising along the couch at a really fast clip trying to get something
~ his sister maybe??? ~
and let go for a couple steps before grabbing on again.
He seemed to be oblivious but both G and I sat there with mouths wide open.

This guy could totally walk if he wanted to . . . he just doesn't realize it!

Who knows, it may not be too long.
