Our 'lil entrepreneur

Yesterday was our annual neighborhood garage sale and Alli's first time running her lemonade stand.
She got up bright and early to be at the stand when we opened at 8 a.m.
Looking positively adorable in her footie PJs and Mommy's coat, tasting her lemonade!
Her initial plan was to charge $.80 but we told her it was going to be donations only.
She convinced Ducky Gramma to make cookies and Mommy to make cake pops.
Everything was a huge hit and Alli was a great sales person.
When folks would arrive, she would exclaim "Oh, I have customers!"
Needless to say, everyone thought she was adorable and she did quite well despite the rain!
This little entrepreneur made $40.55!!!
We were very impressed.
Of course, it wasn't all work, she took many breaks to enjoy the cake pops . . .

After the sale, Alli was supposed to be taking a nap.  This is what she was wearing when she "woke up"
Just call her Fancy Alli ;-)
She was very excited to separate her money into her Give, Save & Spend banks.
Again, we were so proud of her.  We told her that at least $4 had to go in Give ~ She wanted to put in $12!
She split the remaining evenly into Save and Spend.
Alli's hope is to buy a new Barbie at some point.

garage sale success

Last Saturday, May 22nd, we had a garage sale and it was a huge success.  We even convinced Alli to let us sell some of her stuff with the promise that she would get $15 to spend on absolutely anything she wanted.  Well, it ended up being $16 because we had given her $1 to go shopping at our neighbors' sales (we did a neighborhood sale!) and when she went to pay for the bottle she bought with her dollar, Mrs. L gave her four quarters as change ;-)
She was so excited when we gave her 16 dollar bills!!!
She was so ready to go spend her moola!
What better place to take her than Toys R Us?!?!?!  She did such a great job of making wise choices and wound up with another baby that she has named Baby Marley (one of the babies she knows from church).  When we were walking out, she wanted to ride a plane, I started to say no (habit I guess!) but stopped myself and told her she still had money if she wanted to ride (she had $.81 left after paying for the baby).  She climbed up and put in her two quarters.  What a ride!  Then she wanted Skittles and took out another quarter ~ she even asked both Mommy & Daddy if we wanted one!!!  She had $.06 left for her bunny bank and is already asking when we can have another garage sale ;-)
