Luke: 5 months

5 months old already!!!

It doesn't seem possible that this little cutie pie has been with us for 5 months.

The time is flying by so quickly and Luke is getting so big.

I know I keep saying it, but he really is our biggest baby by far ~ we refer to him as the "bruiser" :-)

At 5 months, Luke is such a little ham and a pretty happy little guy.

He always has smiles and loves showing off those adorable dimples.

Thankfully, the colic seems to have passed,

though he is definitely a boy who knows what he likes and what he does NOT like.

For instance, he likes nursing; he does NOT like bottles (i.e. full out refuses them!) 

He also refuses to take any pacifiers or suck a thumb, though he does suck his wrist at times!

At 5 months, Luke is quite the little chatter box and loves when we talk and sing to him.

Pat-a-cake and the Itsy Bitsy Spider are current faves.

Of course, he also loves all of the silly made up songs by Mommy and Alli.

At 5 months, he still doesn't have any teeth but he sure seems to be teething.

Luke drools constantly and is always running his tongue along his gums.

He also gets fussy for no apparent reason and bites everything he can.

Alli and Eli both had teeth by 5 months so we are assuming they will pop up soon.

At 5 months, Luke is rolling from back to tummy both over the right and left.

He actually doesn't seem to mind tummy time anymore and flips to his tummy a ton.

The only time it seems to bother him is when he gets stuck in his crib with an arm between the bars.

We've ordered a breathable bumper and are hoping that will help.

It is quite amusing while he's on his tummy because he puts his arms to the sides and looks like he's trying to fly.  We call him "Baby Buzz" because Eli is always flying around as Buzz Lightyear ;-)

At 5 months, Luke is still very enthralled with his siblings, and they with him.

Although Eli didn't want to participate in the photoshoot, both the bigs adore Luke.

The three of them love to snuggle and play ~ so sweet.

At 5 months, Luke is a huge fan of the jumperoo and really gets going.

Eli loves to stand in front of Luke and "help" him jump even higher ~ leading to lots of giggles!

At 5 months, Luke has tried mashed up bananas, which he seemed to enjoy,

though we have no idea if any actually made it to his tummy ;-)

We've only tried it once as he wound up with a rash (doubt it's related but wanted to be sure),

but he sure had fun with the experiment!!!

At 5 months, Luke is wearing some 3-6 month clothing but outgrowing them in moving into the 6-12 month size.  He is also starting to outgrow the size 2 diapers and will be moving up to size 3 in the next week or so.  Luke is doing better sleeping at night and typically sleeps from 7 pm to 5 am (waking only to nurse) and then up for the day around 7:30 am.  Of course, some nights, he wakes more frequently making for some very tired parents ;-)  We do not know his exact stats but our "unofficial" weight (using our home scale) has him at 16.6 lbs.  Additionally, he's wearing clothes that Eli wasn't in until he was almost a year!

At 5 months, we are all completely in love with our little Lukey and thank God each day for opening our hearts to the idea of having a third child.  We cannot imagine our family without him!!! 

Dislocated Elbow

Luke and I were at the Y this morning when I got a call from Eli's teacher.

Turns out he had a little fall on the playground resulting in lots of tears.

The crying had subsided but he wasn't moving or wanting to use his right arm.

He was trying to eat applesauce with his left arm so they called to let me know.

Luke and I went straight to the school.

I called Dr. D on the way to let him know what was going on.

He said to bring him in if he still wasn't moving it or seemed to be in pain.

When I got to the school, he was outside playing at recess, appearing happy, 

but immediately wanted to tell me about his boo boo.

I thought he was okay until he tried to grab my hand with his right hand and started crying.

Decision made, we were off to see Dr. D.

Mrs. Benoit gave me Eli's "owie report" and he gave her a one-armed hug.

When we got to Dr. D's, Eli told everyone his elbow hurt (by pointing).

Turns out he is a smart kid, it was dislocated :(

Thankfully, Dr. D was able to pop it right back into place with no problems or tears.

We were out of there in 10 minutes with his loot ;-)

Although he is still a bit sore (and will be for a couple days),

Eli is doing great now and has decided his kisses make it all better :-)

Three 'lil shamrocks ;-)

You wouldn't believe how many pictures I took and this really was the best one!

What is it with my boys refusing to cooperate??? ;-)

Thank goodness for Miss Alli who LOVES having her picture taken.

Luke simply didn't know what to think of this morning's photo shoot. 

Alli LOVED wearing her dress and showing it off at school today.

She insisted on wearing the hat as well.

Seriously, too cute!!!

More sewing fun :-)

Our wonderful Miss Kaitlyn has been teaching me new tricks with my sewing machine

so I decided to try making the kiddos some new items with their "letters" on them.

Eli's class had "letter" day last week so I made him a t-shirt with a sports-themed "E"

I was so happy with how it turned out and Eli LOVED it!!!  Score one for Mommy :-)

Alli thought it was very cool and wanted one too

so I decided to make the kiddos matching outfits for St Patty's Day.

Eli gets another shirt ~ no picture yet but it's done and turned out great if I do say so myself ;-)

I decided to do a bib for Luke . . .

You can see the imperfections but I'm still pretty excited with what I can do now!

For Alli, I decided to try something I've been wanting to do since I got the sewing machine . . .

 a tee shirt dress 

 I was terrified to try it but Kaitlyn showed me how to gather the fabric and I decided to go for it.

I am very happy with how it turned out and Alli keeps telling me how much she loves it!!!

Tomorrow, Eli is having shamrock day at school so they will be wearing their new items.

Hoping to get a pic of all three in their snazzy St Patty's Day wear :-)

Enjoying the sunshine!

We finally had a fairly warm, sunny day ~ woo hoo!!!

We had to take full advantage by enjoying some time outside.

G got home relatively early from work so we let the kiddos take their cars out for a spin.

This year, Eli was big enough to drive himself and he loved it!!!

Though, he definitely needs more practice steering ~

Daddy spent most of his time right next to Eli helping him steer ;-)

Alli on the other hand was a little pro & got right back into driving as though she never took a break!

Luke found the whole outside time overrated ;-)

Unlike A & E, who LOVED being in the sling, Luke has always HATED it.  Someone recommended that I try the Ergo and I was desperate so I ordered one this week.  It came today and I tried it out.  Guess what, he didn't scream, cry or fuss.  In fact, he smiled and fell asleep!!!  It was even very comfortable ~ I'm completely sold and think it was worth every penny.  I was able to get dinner ready while he comfortably slept on me ~ YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luke woke up happy as could be just in time for us to eat dinner and we decided to pull out the high chair so he could join us at the table.  He was intrigued and enjoyed it for quite awhile. 

Alli and Eli thought it was pretty cool that Luke was in their high chair (one of the few baby items that has gone through all three of our little fish!) and insisted on having their pictures taken with Luke. 

Although he didn't make it through the whole dinner, I would still call this a success!

Love these sunny days and cannot wait for summer to arrive.

So who is the biggest 'lil fish???

As you can see, it is no contest, Luke is by far the biggest of our babies at the four month mark ;-)

They are all pretty cute though!

Luke Daniel Fisher

4 months today!!!

Weighing in at 15 lbs, 4 ounces and 25.5 inches.

Lucky for him, it's Leap year so he actually gets to celebrate his 4 month birthday :-)

He was very excited to be taking his monthly pictures!

At 4 months, this sweet baby boy is such a joy . . .

He giggles, is becoming ticklish (especially his belly!), loves his tubby time and big siblings.

He lights ups when Mommy or Daddy enter his line of sight, making us feel so loved!!! 

He still spits up almost constantly and meds don't seem to make any difference so we gave up. 

 Fortunately, the spitting doesn't bother him too much.

He typically sleeps most of the night (7:30 pm to 4:30 am). 

He was sleeping all the way through until we went to Disneyland :( 

I have high hopes he will be sleeping straight through again soon! 

Luke LOVES to eat but lately REFUSES to take a bottle,

 meaning that Mommy and Luke are never too far from each other. 

Oh well, with a face like this, I can't complain too much:-) 

At 4 months, this rolly, polly sweetheart is our littlest love and we are so thankful to have him in our family!

Our Winter Wonderland

Almost the end of the February and we were greeted with a lovely snow storm this evening . . .

Although I was none too impressed, these two thought it was AWESOME!!!

As soon as they finished dinner (and Girl Scout cookies for dessert!),

they were racing to grab snow clothes from our "cold weather bin." 

We owe a huge thanks to the Lynch family for giving us some "boy colored" snowsuits when they moved to sunny CA ~ Eli loves that he doesn't have to wear all pink.  Yep, he's still stuck with Alli's pink snow boots from last year but at least you can't see them thanks to the size 4/5 black snowsuit he gets to wear ;-)

Eli could not wait to get out in the snow and had a blast driving his dump truck and throwing snowballs. 

Although she too enjoyed throwing snowballs (once she put on her mittens!),

Alli was more interested in trying to eat the snow ;-) 

Definitely a fun after dinner, pre-bath activity but I am so hoping that it is all gone when we wake up tomorrow morning so that school is not affected!!!

Happy Heart Day!

Today was a great Valentine's Day for all!

Yep, that was the best photo I could get of three kiddos!

Once again, Alli's precious little smile makes up for the less than cooperative boys,

who looked absolutely adorable in their matching shirts ;-)

Both Alli and Eli were over the moon excited with their Valentines ~ a cup filled with M-n-Ms and suckers! 

They also had a great time making Valentine's for their school friends.

It was a great teachable moment for Mommy too . . .

I had these grand plans of making rice krispy pops and printing out cute labels when Alli said:

"But Mommy, I want to make the hearts like last year"

Can you believe I actually thought about trying to talk her out of it???

It's her Valentines and we did exactly what she wanted and she could not have been happier!

Neither could I for that matter!!!

She did such a great job writing all of the names, putting on the suckers and adding stickers.

I think they turned out way better than anything I had planned.  Good reminder for this Mommy to back off! 

When Eli saw them, he wanted to do the same thing for his buddies.

I wrote his name but he had Alli help him add his Toy Story and Cars stickers.

He had so much fun decorating them and delivering them to his friends' bags ~ so cute! 

Not sure why I got so into it this year, but for breakfast,

I made the kids heart shaped french toast and white chocolate covered strawberries with their names written on them (so bummed that I forgot to take a picture but Garrett said they were very cool!)

Eli should have gotten a prize for managing to eat all of the white chocolate with the least amount of strawberry :-)  Such a silly boy!  I was feeling so puffed up at one point when I heard Eli say "yummy!"  I thought he was referring the breakfast I made but when I looked over, I saw that he had snagged on the suckers from his Valentine cup ~ oh well, I tried!

After breakfast, I attempted to get some pictures of all the kiddos.  Those silly boys refused to cooperate!

Luke was smiling so big and giggling but refused to do it for the camera. 

Love that he was looking so unimpressed with his first Valentine's Day. 

I think he wondered what all the fuss was about!

In true Alli fashion, our sweet girl was very lovey, dovey and more than happy to pose for the camera ;-) 

She was also happy to show Luke that Valentine's day is all about love and smooching! 



Garrett surprised me this year by sending me a beautiful bouquet of one dozen long stem red roses.

Again, so bummed that I forgot to take a picture but I loved them.

Alli was with me when they were delivered and was convinced Daddy sent them to "his girls."  She was so excited by them that there was no way I was correcting her.  She even gave him a big hug when he got home and thanked him for sending "her and Mommy" the flowers ~ love it!!!

Disnyland 2012: Getting Ready

We had been planning our Disneyland trip since February 2011 

so I had plenty of time to do lots of little projects for the family to make the trip extra special ;-)

To begin, t-shirts for the family . . .



Yes, everyone on the trip had one of these beauties, which we wore on the plane ride down.

I LOVED them and they were quite handy for finding our party ;-)



We also wore our snazzy red "Fisher Fam" shirts our final day in the park and the plane ride home.

For Alli, I designed a birthday shirt . . .

and sent all of her buddies somewhat matching shirts . . .

 The five little girls were so cute!

Aside from the shirts, I decided to put my crafty side to work and sew some reversible bags for the kids.

I wanted to be sure they had fun items to entertain them during the travel portions of our trip! 

I was very pleased with how these turned out and the kids loved their Mickey/Minnie bags!

I filled them with all things Disney . . .

 stickers, candy, playdoh, crayons, dry erase markers, and their new activity and autograph books.

Alli was soooooo excited with her goody bag and kept saying "thank you" over and over :-)

Inside the bags were two items I created over the past couple months and they were a huge hit . . .

Personalized autograph books for each of the kids (each character had its own page)

These were such a hit with our family and the characters!

So easy too, I downloaded free clip art and fonts, created it in MS PowerPoint, printed it at home and had it bound at Staples, cost me a total of $10 for both books ~ we spent more buying two character pens!!!

I also made both Alli and Eli their own activity book complete with coloring pages, games, learning worksheets, maps and more.  These were also a huge hit with the kids on the plane and at home!

I had to chuckle when someone told me, "you know you can just buy coloring books right?"

Yes, I know that but this was so much fun to do and the little fish loved it!
